Briefly: Ludacris, Kanye West, Hanson, CSNY
Rappers Kanye West and Ludacris reportedly won a copyright-infringement trial regarding their 2003 hit "Stand Up" Thursday (6/2) in New York City.
A New Jersey group dubbed I.O.F. (for It's Only Family) alleged that the track--which appeared on the 2003 Ludacris album "Chicken and Beer"--substantially copied the I.O.F. song "Straight Like That." Each song repeats the words "like that" more than 80 times, according to the Associated Press.
An attorney for I.O.F. told the AP that the case would likely be appealed because the judge did not allow a music expert to testify for the plaintiff.
Zac Hanson , 20, of the all-brother pop trio Hanson, will marry his longtime girlfriend Kate Tucker, 22, this weekend in Atlanta, according to published reports.
Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young have canceled their previously scheduled July 20 performance at Phoenix's Cricket Pavilion, citing "scheduling conflicts," according to promoters. Tickets will be refunded at the point of purchase.
