Rob Thomas and his band Matchbook Twenty have announced a $200,000 donation to the Consortium for Worker Education.

According to a press release, the consortium is a "resettlement agency" first commissioned to help workers displaced by the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. The money will be used for ongoing 9/11 efforts, and as seed money to help the agency's efforts in the hurricane-ravaged Gulf Coast region.

Country singer Martina McBride will perform her hit "This One's For the Girls" on Wednesday (5/31) during Katie Couric's final broadcast as co-host on NBC-TV's "Today Show."

Couric, who is leaving "Today" to become anchor of CBS-TV's evening newscast, asked McBride to perform the song, according to a press release.
