'American Idols Live' tour expanded

With hype for its namesake television show at an all-time high, the " American Idols Live " tour has swelled to a 60-date outing thanks to a new batch of shows.
Strong ticket sales over the weekend led to additional nights in Manchester, NH; Worcester, MA; East Rutherford, NJ; and Uniondale, NY; and more than a dozen new September stops now grace the schedule. Tickets for most performances are already on sale, while those for the newly added September stops are slated to hit the box office Thursday (5/24) and Friday (5/25), according to a press release. Details are included in the itinerary below.
As previously reported, the outing will feature 10 of this season's "American Idol" finalists: Paris Bennett, Bucky Covington, Chris Daughtry, Taylor Hicks, Mandisa, Katharine McPhee, Kellie Pickler, Lisa Tucker, Elliot Yamin and Ace Young.
After weeks of eliminations, the talent competition has narrowed the field down to McPhee and Hicks, who last night had their last chance to win over viewers. One of the two singers will be crowned the new "American Idol" winner during tonight's (5/23) season finale.
"American Idol" has been a television-ratings juggernaut this season; the show has averaged almost 30 million viewers per episode, according to a press release, and has consistently been the No. 1 show in its time slot.
