Austin City Limits fest to feature Tom Petty, Willie Nelson, Van Morrison
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Willie Nelson , Van Morrison , Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals and The Flaming Lips highlight the lineup for this year's Austin City Limits Festival in Austin, TX.
The fifth edition of the annual event will take place Sept. 15-17 in Austin's Zilker Park, with about 130 bands stretched out across eight stages.
Other acts confirmed for the festival include Massive Attack, String Cheese Incident, John Mayer, The Raconteurs, Los Lonely Boys, The Shins, Ween, Thievery Corporation, Ben Kweller, G. Love & Special Sauce, Gnarls Barkley, Cat Power & The Memphis Rhythm Band, Damien Marley, The New Pornographers, Kings of Leon, Iron & Wine, Calexico and Nickel Creek
A complete list of confirmed acts, ticket information and performance times can be found at the festival's website.
The three-day festival--inspired by the long-running PBS music show "Austin City Limits"--will also feature an arts festival and a food fair, as well as an area inside the park with games and entertainment for children, including a "petting zoo" featuring musical instruments.
Reacting to criticism from earlier years of the festival that typical summer temperatures in Austin made the event unpleasant for many, organizers are including more man-made shade, drinking fountains and misting areas, according to a press release.
