Alan Jackson takes 'Precious Memories' on tour
Country mainstay Alan Jackson , who recently topped the country and Christian charts with his new album of gospel classics, "Precious Memories," is scheduled to be on the road on and off through the end of the year.
The singer's current schedule is dominated by appearances at casinos, fairs and festivals, and so far includes 15 confirmed dates scattered through December.
Jackson recorded "Precious Memories" as a Christmas gift for his mother. The album hit stores on Feb. 28, and sold more than 107,000 copies in its first week. The set returned to the top of the country charts following the March 23 premiere of a "Precious Memories" special on country-music cable channel GAC. The special included interview footage with Jackson and his family, as well as footage taped live during a sold-out concert at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium.
The "Precious Memories" special will be available on DVD exclusively at Target stores beginning June 6.
