Briefly: Dixie Chicks, Godsmack, Taking Back Sunday, Depeche Mode
Amazon.com is currently hosting exclusive video of an in-studio performance of the new Dixie Chicks track "The Long Way Around," which will appear on the trio's forthcoming album, "Taking the Long Way."
The clip also includes commentary from the group. "Taking the Long Way" is scheduled to hit stores May 23.
Godsmack 's new album "IV" sold about 211,000 copies during its first week in stores, enough to earn the Boston quartet the No. 1 slot on the latest Billboard 200 album chart.
Debuting at No. 2 is "Louder Now," the latest from rockers Taking Back Sunday , which edged out the No. 3 entry, Bruce Springsteen 's "We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions."
Entering the chart at No. 4 is R&B singer Avant's "Director," while Rihanna's sophomore album, "A Girl Like Me," enters the chart at No. 5.
Expanded reissues of three Depeche Mode albums--the group's 1981 debut, "Speak & Spell"; 1987's "Music for the Masses"; and 1990's "Violator"--will be released by Rhino Records on May 16, according to the label.
Each album will be augmented by a bonus DVD that features 5.1 audio, B-sides, remixes and new interviews with members of the band about the albums.
