Radiohead tunes in theater dates

Radiohead , which hasn't delivered a new studio album since 2003's "Hail to the Thief," has no plans to offer a follow-up this year, but that won't stop the experimental alt-rockers from mounting a North American tour.

The group has lined up a month-long series of two-night stands that begins with a June 1-2 engagement in the Philadelphia and wraps with a June 29-30 booking in Los Angeles. Stops are planned at theaters in a total of seven US and two Canadian cities.

Tickets for most of the shows will hit the box office during the coming weekend. Details are included in the itinerary shown below.

As previously reported, the group's June tour plans also include a June 17 appearance at this year's Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, TN.

Though the group doesn't plan to release a new album this year, concertgoers can expect to hear plenty of new tunes during the summer tour, as the set lists for the shows "will draw heavily on the newer material the band has been working on over the past months," according to a press release.

"We're excited to be touring again, especially to play new songs to an audience," the group said in a recent statement. "For the first time, we have no contract or release deadline to fulfill--it's both liberating and terrifying. To keep things more fun and spontaneous, we will be playing new songs that are work in progress. We will also be releasing music to download when we are excited about it, rather than wait months for a full-blown album release. Music's not just about all-time greats--it's also a document of its time, and we want to be able to put out a song when it feels right."
