Napster strikes deal with BMG parent company

Napster and German media conglomerate Bertelsmann--the parent company of major label BMG--have entered into an agreement that could ultimately see the controversial MP3 file-sharing network become a subscription-based service, according to a joint statement issued on Tuesday (10/31). The agreement could also result in BMG dropping its lawsuit against the company, the statement said.  / Read more
