Garth Brooks Gets First Hit For Padres

Garth Brooks [ tickets ] appeared thrilled after achieving his first hit in a Padres uniform on Sunday in a spring-training game against the Chicago White Sox. The Padres ultimately lost the game 11-8, but Brooks' piece of the game was noted by many. "I bet that base hit to him means more than if he sells another million records," Padres general manager Kevin Towers said in an AP report.
