If you went to a certain Dunkin' Donuts in New York City in 1977, you may very well have been served by Madonna . Not quite 20 years old and working in the donut shop to make ends meet in the big city, she had taken a leap of faith, leaving her studies at the University of Michigan to pursue a career in dance.

Madonna soon segued into singing, and by 1982 she had released her first single, "Everybody," and her epic career had officially begun. Fast forward to present day, and she holds the Guinness World Record for the most successful female recording artist of all time. Her estimated net worth is reportedly more than $490 million, and she has sold more than 200 million albums worldwide.

Currently in the middle of the North American leg of her "Sticky and Sweet Tour" in support of her latest album, "Hard Candy," Madonna will be making stops across the US before wrapping things up with two shows at month's end in Mexico City.

LiveDaily photographer Tim Mosenfelder attended the Queen of Pop's show in Oakland on Saturday (11/1) and took photos of her performance.
