Linkin Park cancels Asia tour

Linkin Park has canceled their upcoming "Music for Relief" concerts in Mainland China, Macau and Taipei due to a back injury suffered by lead vocalist Chester Bennington, according to a statement on the band's website.

Bennington is under doctor's orders to refrain from traveling and physical activities. In the statement, the band said it sincerely regrets the unavoidable cancellation and apologizes to fans for any disappointment caused.

The tour, which was organized to benefit Sichuan, an area ravaged by a devastating earthquake in May, will still contribute to the nonprofit organization with donations from concert promoter Emma Ticketmaster and Linkin Park. Those funds will be matched by the World Bank, and all of the money will benefit post-earthquake reconstruction projects in the Sichuan Province initiated by the Chinese Civil Society Organizations.
