Tony Bennett readies holiday release
Tony Bennett and The Count Basie Big Band will release a Christmas CD Oct. 14, the crooner's first holiday recording in 40 years, according to a press release.
"Tony Bennett: A Swingin' Christmas featuring The County Basie Big Band" features 11 classic holiday tracks, including "I'll Be Home for Christmas," "Winter Wonderland" and "Santa Claus is Coming to Town."
The CD also serves as an introduction of Bennett's daughter, Antonia, who duets with her father on "I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm."
"Tony Bennett: A Swingin' Christmas," which was recorded live at Bergen Performing Arts Center in Englewood, NJ, will be available in several formats, including a standard CD and a deluxe CD/DVD fan edition featuring the recording of the album and a holiday card package with artwork by Bennett. A deluxe CD/DVD fan edition that includes a bonus holiday card painted by Bennett also will be available.
