Rogue Wave founder Zach Rogue and company have overcome some bad breaks since the band formed in 2002, from serious illness and getting dropped by their label in 2006, to the sudden death of beloved bass player Evan Farrell in 2007. The band seemed to be on an upswing this year, playing a set at Lollapalooza and supporting Jack Johnson and Death Cab for Cutie, as well as appearing on "The Late Show David Letterman."
It's not clear however, that the band's luck has really changed, based on a statement made on the group's website earlier this month: "We regret to inform everyone that we've had to cancel our Boston show at the Bank of America Pavilion, and our in store at Newbury Comics. Zach had a serious injury and is unable to play guitar, and the band will be unable to perform. Canceling the shows was the last thing we wanted to do, but unfortunately, we have no choice. We'll try to make these up to everyone as soon as possible."
LiveDaily's Tim Mosenfelder attended Rogue Wave's set at Berkeley's Greek Theatre in June and took photos of the action on stage.
