Considering the band only formed 4 years ago, the degree of success that has come to Cold War Kids is astonishing. Whether by luck or thoughtful planning, the group's path is almost a straight line. From obscurity in 2004 to the release of their debut EP, "Mulberry Street," in 2005, followed by a tour with Tapes 'n' Tapes and a set at Lollapalooza in 2006, and the release of their successful debut album, "Robbers and Cowards," during the same year.
Frontman Nathan Willett has credited inspiration from the likes of Jeff Buckley, Bob Dylan, the Velvet Underground, and, most importantly, Radiohead. In keeping with the trajectory, Cold War Kids are touring in support of their second album, "Loyalty to Loyalty," which is scheduled to hit the streets next Tuesday (9/23). Next week, the band will be in the Pacific Northwest, and will head East and South in October.
