James Taylor [ tickets ] will appear on QVC Friday (9/12) to debut his new album, "Covers," which includes renditions of songs that have influenced and inspired the singer/songwriter from the past several decades, according to a press release. During the television broadcast, Taylor will perform a selection of songs from the CD while viewers get an inside look at the making of his first cover album.

QVC shoppers will have an opportunity to purchase "Covers" with a specially packaged bonus-enhanced CD that features four additional songs from the recording session. The package also includes a copy of the 10-minute, behind-the-scenes video of the making of the album that was created especially for QVC.

The new release, recorded last January in a converted barn on Taylor's property in Western Massachusetts, features covers of "Hound Dog," "Not Fade Away," and "Some Days You Gotta Dance," among others.
