Sam Moore fills in for Isaac Hayes at Sunset Junction fest

Sam Moore will appear in place of Isaac Hayes Aug. 23 at the Sunset Junction Street Festival in Los Angeles. Moore, best known as half of the '60s soul duo Sam and Dave, will be performing a tribute to Hayes, who died last weekend (8/10) of an apparent stroke.

The relationship between the two soul men dates back to the mid-1960s, when Hayes co-wrote several of Sam and Dave's hit songs with Dave Porter. Hayes also produced and played piano on most of Sam and Dave's recordings, according to a press release.

Moore's tribute to Hayes will take place on the Hoover stage the first night of the Sunset Junction Street Festival. The event is being held on Sunset Blvd. between Fountain and Edgecliff and on Santa Monica Blvd. between Hoover and Sanborn.
