Buddy Guy Readies New Release

Buddy Guy is set to release a new album of original material, "Skin Deep," July 22. The five-time Grammy winner has enlisted fellow guitarists Eric Clapton, Robert Randolph, Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks for this album, his tenth Silvertone/Zomba studio release. The lead single, "Skin Deep," hits AAA radio July 14, according to a press release.

After more than 45 years of performing, Guy continues to be relevant. At the age of 72, he appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone as part of the magazine's "100 Greatest Guitar Songs" issue (for his 1961 track "Stone Crazy"). He recently performed with the Rolling Stones in Martin Scorsese's concert film, "Shine a Light." This year, Guy was selected to receive the first annual Great Performer of Illinois Award and will be honored at a tribute concert July 20 in Millennium Park. The US leg of Guy's world tour begins July 23 in Silverton, OR.
