New Giant Sand Release
Howe Gelb is set to release the first Giant Sand album in nearly four years. "Provisions," scheduled for a Sept. 2 release, also will feature Isobell Campbell, Neko Case and M. Ward, according to a press release.
This incarnation of Giant Sand is comprised of Gelb, Thoger T. Lund, Peter Dombernowsky and Anders Pedersen. The Gelb project, which began in 1980 as The Giant Sandworms, has spawned a variety of bands including Calexico, The Friends of Dean Martinez and OP8.
