LiveDaily Sessions Podcast: The Virgins

After barely three years in existence, New York City rockers The Virgins are about to make a splash with their self-titled, major-label debut.

Band members Donald Cumming and Wade Oates met in 2005 while modeling on a photo shoot in Mexico, and began playing songs that Cummings had been working on. Not long after, the pair recruited Nick Zarin-Ackerman and Erik Ratensperger, and the quartet was soon opening for the likes of Patti Smith, Sonic Youth and Jet.

The group is currently in the midst of a multi-act tour that also features fellow rockers She Wants Revenge, Be Your Own Pet and Switches. Tour dates are posted at The Virgins' MySpace page.

Also housed at the band's MySpace page is a streaming version of the cut "Rich Girls," which first appeared on the band's 2007 self-titled EP and is the leadoff single from the group's inaugural set for Atlantic Recods, which lands in stores next Tuesday (6/3).
