Bruce Springsteen joins Mike Ness onstage at the Stone Pony
Bruce Springsteen made a surprise appearance at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park on Saturday (5/17), joining Mike Ness on stage for four songs.
According to the New Jersey Star Ledger's Bruce Blog, Springsteen jumped on stage for the following mini-set during Ness' show: 1. Misery Loves Company 2. Ball and Chain 3. If You Leave Before Me 4. I Fought The Law
The appearance marks Springsteen's fourth New Jersey performance since the formal end of the U.S. leg of Springsteen's spring tour in Florida on May 2nd.
On May 4th, Springsteen was inducted to the New Jersey Hall of Fame and joined house band La Bamba and the Hubcaps for a rendition of "Glory Days."
On May 7th, Springsteen pulled the E Street Band together for a benefit show benefiting the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank. At that show, Springsteen rolled out a surprise set, performing two of his classic albums, "Darkness On The Engine Of Town" and "Born To Run" back to back in their entirety.
And on May 14th, backstreets.com reports that Springsteen joined Bobby Bandiera's band on the Stone Pony stage for a full set of Springsteen material and rock classics in a benefit show for local school programs.
Correction: An earlier version of this story reported that Springsteen had not been on the Stone Pony stage since 2004.
