Currently in the midst of a spring US outing, Detroit rap-rocker Kid Rock is setting his sights on a summer tour of Canada, as well as a two-night stand on his home turf. Rock, whose in-progress tour leg behind last year's "Rock and Roll Jesus" wraps up in late May, has booked a seven-date Canadian stretch in early July, and has capped that itinerary with a two-night stand at the Detroit-area's DTE Energy Music Theatre.

Veteran rockers Joan Jett andThe Blackhearts will tackle a summer roadtrip that includes a June stretch with Cyndi Lauper's True Colors tour. The singer/guitarist and her band will kick off the outing with a May 2 appearance at Memphis, TN's Beale Street Music Festival, and dates are scattered through late September. The roadwork supports Jett's most recent studio album, 2006's "Sinner."

Musiq Soulchild continues to support his latest No. 1 album, "Luvanmusiq," with a smattering of dates through summer. The Grammy-nominated singer will play a handful of US shows over the next few months, including a July 4 gig at the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans, and he'll pick up the pace in August, playing nearly a dozen concerts in the eastern half of the country, about half of which will also feature Chaka Khan.

Death Cab for Cutie continues to add dates to its current tour ahead of its forthcoming new album, "Narrow Stairs," which is due in stores May 13. The roadwork kicks off May 9 and dates are stacked up through the end of June.

George Thorogood and the Destroyers will hit the road with blues-rock legend Buddy Guy for two-dozen concerts across the US this summer. Thorogood, who's been traveling across the country since February, will kick off a 20-date tour of Canada next month before joining Guy July 23 in Silverton, OR. From there, the blues-rockers will make their way from the West Coast to the East Coast through late August.
