'American Idol' Gives Back, Again

Bono , Miley Cyrus and Snoop Dogg will be among the artists appearing Apr. 9 on "American Idol 's" second charitable special, "Idol Gives Back," airing on the Fox television network, according to a press release.

Brad Pitt will join the lineup of all-star musicians, which also includes Fergie , Annie Lennox , John Legend and "Idol" alumni Carrie Underwood and Chris Daughtry .

Last year, "Idol Gives Back" won a Governor's Award Emmy for raising $76 million. The money went to various US and international charities that lend support to underprivileged children in disadvantaged areas by providing medical care, food and grocery products along with health skills, life skills and literacy programs, among other initiatives.

Some of the money raised by the two-hour special was dedicated to organizations that support efforts to battle poverty in Africa through various health and education programs, including delivering medical supplies and providing clean water.
