Juvenile's Young Daughter Murdered

The 4-year-old daughter of rapper Juvenile was fatally shot along with the girl's mother, Gwinnett County Sheriff's Deputy Joy Deleston, and another of Deleston's daughters, Micaiah, 11, according to The Associated Press. The family's bodies were found the evening of Feb. 28 in their home, located near Lawrenceville, GA, which is located outside of Atlanta.

Deleston's son, 17-year-old Anthony Tyrone Terrell Jr., was charged with the deaths of his mother and siblings and is being held in the DeKalb County jail. Terrell, who reportedly confessed to the killings, was taken to DeKalb County to avoid any potential conflict because his mother works for Gwinnett County, where the crimes were committed. Because of his age, prosecutors cannot seek the death penalty against Terrell.

The gun used in the murders reportedly was found by authorities but a police spokesperson could not confirm whether or not it was Deleston's service weapon. A preliminary hearing will be set this week in Gwinnett County Superior Court, the prosecutor told AP.

Deleston brought a paternity lawsuit against Juvenile in 2004, claiming that he was Jelani's father, according to reports. Both parties later agreed Juvenile was the father and he had been making regular child support payments. Juvenile's manager reportedly said the rapper, who is based in New Orleans, is "shocked and devastated" by the shooting death of his young daughter, her sister and her mother.
