Linkin Park, Stone Temple Pilots Headline Edgefest

Edgefest will make its return to Toronto with Linkin Park and Stone Temple Pilots headlining the July 12 festival at Downsview Park, according to a press release.

Edgefest was initially launched in 1987 as a one-off radio show to celebrate the 10th anniversary of 102.1 FM the Edge Toronto. The event hosted numerous acts during the next 20 years including Green Day, Radiohead, Tool and many more. Event organizers decided the fest needed a break and the event was shelved following the 20th anniversary show in 2006.

Joining Linkin Park and a reunited STP at the 2008 Edgefest will be the Sam Roberts Band, The Bravery, Ashes Divide and Attack in Black, among others. STP is also scheduled to headline Rock on the Range May 17 at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, OH
