SXSW Performer: Buzzcocks (Manchester, UK)

Straight out of 1977, England's Buzzcocks remain almost invulnerable to time or passing fads. The band--which practically created the punk-pop genre all by itself--originally broke up in 1981, but reunited officially in 1990 and has remained together ever since. Still led by guitarist/vocalist Pete Shelley, the band issued early last year "Flat-Pack Philosophy," just its seventh studio album in a career spanning more than 20 years. --Tjames Madison
